Prayer for Anxiety
Praying is simply talking to God. He knows you. What matters is the attitude of your heart, your self-honesty, and your genuine approach to God.
Abba Father
You know the things that are worrying me.
I get anxious about a lot of things … my family, my friends, my future, my health, …
…lack of money, COVID…
So many things seem to be happening around me…
So many things seem to be happening to me…
You tell me to rely on you and that you will take care of all my worries… this is so very hard.
I ask you to help me.
I know you will because you love me.
Thank you for being there for me.
In Jesus’ name
AMEN
Some Comforting Scriptures
The 23rd Psalm has brought comfort and strength to so many down through the ages:
Matthew 6:25 "That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life— whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing?" Look at the birds; they do not sow or reap or store food in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they? Who by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Matthew 6:33 – 34: "Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes."
Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Psalm 46:1-2: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way, and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea."
Proverbs 12:25: "Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up."
